The Flesh is not my Home

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

-Galatians 2:20

God has called each of us to have a very specific purpose and plan that is unlike anyone else's. We have our own gifts, desires, and passions that we want to pursue.

We have these passions placed inside of us because of Christ living in us.

Isaiah 44:3 says "..clothed like water being poured on dry and thirsty ground"....Thats what its like when Christ is living in us.

And the great thing about this truth is that our flesh is not our home. He gave us this body to live out his purpose and his desired for OUR life, not our own wants and desires.

When we invite Christ to live in us, the spirit allows our eyes to be opened to see through His eyes. His passions become our passions and his desires become our desires.

But we have to invite the spirit in. And a lot of times what that means is that your life is going to get a lot more difficult and complicated. A lot of things might go wrong. And you might start to question "man, I thought inviting Christ into my life would mean things get easier"

But the reality is, is that as soon as you open your heart and mind to the Spirit and what He can do in your, He starts to prune your soul of the things that you've been holding onto that no longer have meaning. And its tough.

But you have to look at it this way..you asked God to come into your life,. You asked him to make a change in your life, so why would we question Him and his plans when its us that have asked for him to make a move?

Your openness to Gods Spirit will provide for you a lifelong reckless, unstoppable passion and love that is fueled by the only one who can.

We will always be pressured to live a life that is for the world. But the good news is that as long as what we do, we are doing it to serve and glorify God, we will be rewarded, blessed, and secure in the hope that His love is bigger than all things.

Christ is in you. Let him engulf and wrap around every part of who you are and watch him make miracles out of the mess.

Reflect on todays verse:

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

-Galatians 2:20

1. Do you believe this truth today? In what ways this week can you fully invite Christ in? What areas of your life or heart are you still closing off to Him that he's asking you to let go of?

2. How is God speaking to you through this verse? What stands out to you the most?

3. Was there a lesson in this passage? How does it pertain to your life right now?

4. How do you feel God is using this passage to you move and grow you?

5. What are some steps you can take this week to embrace, and live out this truth?

Father,

Thank you for your Spirit that lives in me. Thank you that I have these things in my life that I am passionate about, and I pray that as I pursue these passions that I would do them all for your glory Jesus. The flesh is not my home Father God, help me to live my life each and every day in a way that is pleasing and aligns with you.

Amen
